In a separate but related signal, the Federal Reserve appointed a16z co-founder Marc Andreessen this week to co-lead a new task force studying AI's impact on jobs, productivity, and monetary policy, a sign that AI's labor effects are now treated as a monetary-policy input, not only a workforce-planning question.

What this means for enterprise leadership: the AI talent market has moved from a compensation contest to a legal one, and AI's labor effects now sit on the Federal Reserve's own research agenda. Any organization actively building or embedding AI engineering talent should treat IP-assignment and non-solicit terms as a live governance item this quarter, not paperwork to revisit later.

Salesforce's Agentforce reached $800 million in annual recurring revenue, up 169% year over year, with the pricing model shifting from per-user to per-task as workload, not headcount, becomes the billing unit. Salesforce and Databricks also deepened their partnership, with Salesforce named Databricks' ISV Business App Partner of the Year at this year's Data + AI Summit. Separately, ServiceNow continued positioning itself as the governance and orchestration layer every AI agent should pass through, regardless of which underlying model a company uses. Adobe shipped two enterprise AI products on July 6: Firefly Graph Enterprise Edition, which encapsulates expert creative workflows as reusable node combinations across more than 300 node types, and Creative Production Enterprise Edition, built for mass multi-language, multi-format, brand-compliant content output.

For platform-adjacent enterprise leadership: Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 5 has been the default model for every Free and Pro user since July 1, and Claude Cowork expanded to web and mobile with new Microsoft 365 write tools this week, extending directly into the Microsoft 365 workflows many regulated enterprises already run. Watch this space closely if your platform roadmap already includes Salesforce, Databricks, Microsoft, or Adobe: each is converging on the same agent-orchestration layer from a different direction.

Financial services leads every regulated sector on both dimensions: 91% of organizations have adopted AI agents in some capacity, and 58% of pilots convert to production, the highest conversion rate tracked. Healthcare tells a different story. 68% of healthcare organizations already use AI agents, but only 33% of pilots reach production, a 35-point gap that is the widest of any sector measured. Manufacturing has accelerated the fastest of any sector over the past 18 months, moving from 70% to 77% adoption, with a 44% conversion rate. Energy and utilities convert pilots to production at 40%, concentrated in smart-grid monitoring, anomaly detection, and automated alerting.

For regulated-sector leadership: "are you using AI agents" is no longer a useful question, most organizations will say yes. The more useful question is what is actually blocking a pilot from becoming a production system, typically governance maturity, integration depth, and change-management readiness rather than model capability.

Colorado's rewrite continues to anchor a disclosure-and-rights US-state model distinct from the EU's risk-tiering approach, and the December 2025 White House order adds a live question about how much federal pressure that state framework will face before it takes effect.
